Website Design & Development Services Overview

The BarnYard Designer offers web design & website development, as well as website hosting and domain name management services.  Though I do business from my office in Harnett County, North Carolina I can easily work for businesses in other geographic locations throughout NC or beyond.

Basic Website Design (static HTML)

If you have a small budget and just need a website to serve as an online business brochure (a simple ‘who you are, what you do, where you are, and how to contact you’), then a basic html website will be a good start.  Basic static HTML websites are faster to set up and are easier to for a web developer to maintain.  Most site owners will opt to have the developer continue to make changes, additions or updates to these basic website (since updating them requires editing and FTP software, knowledge of their use along with some basic coding knowledge and backup practices).

Websites with Dynamic Capabilities

Basic HTML websites can include add-ons, like photo galleries or basic calendars, that the website owner can manage through a web browser.  These options cost a little more to have integrated but are worth it for the site owner who may need to edit these key pieces of the website on a regular basis.

WordPress Website Development

WordPress is a ‘content management system’ (CMS) that allows a user to control the content (the text and images) of the website. Editing content is done through an administrative panel using a modern computer with an internet connection and a web browser (no other specialized software is needed).  WordPress is fairly easy to learn and use with some practice.  WordPress websites take a bit longer to create and do involve more upkeep time (WordPress and its ‘plugins’, or app, are updated frequently), but the effort is worth it if you’ll be constantly adding to or updating the information on your website.

Graphic Design & Editing

TBD can work on the complete look of a website, converting a print copy of your logo to a clean digital copy for use on your website, or modifying a design template you’ve purchased. Design is important for ‘customer first impression’ and usability.

SEO & Content Writing

Search Engine Optimization (or ‘SEO’) is the combination of writing code and web page content that affects a website’s (or individual web page’s) placing in search engine’s (unpaid) search results.

Most business owners are good at what they do, but that may not include WRITING about what they do. If you find you are having a hard time coming up with the wording to woo potential customers, and the search engines, I can help you out.

Social Media Management

If you don’t have the patience or manpower to manage a social media presence (Facebook, Google+, Twitter) I can make those kinds of posts for you whenever you send news worthy updates for your website.

I can also get you set up with business listings (Google Places for Business, Bing Places for Business, Linkedin).
